Gohrisch is located in the middle of one of Germany’s most beautiful landscapes – in the Saxon Switzerland National Park (Saxony), which is part of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. Gohrisch is a state-approved climatic health resort – quiet, small, with a spa park, historic villas, and lots of nature. It has retained its original charm and is considered one of the quieter places in Saxon Switzerland (in contrast to the tourist-crowded Bastei areas).
Gohrisch is a perfect starting point for hikers.
Popular tours:
– Gohrischstein (448 m) – short but steep climb with fantastic views.
– Papststein (451 m) – with a mountain restaurant and views as far as Königstein Fortress. – Pfaffenstein & Barbarine – impressive rock with a striking stone pillar. – Lilienstein – the landmark of Saxon Switzerland, clearly visible from the Elbe. – Malerweg – one of the most famous long-distance hiking trails in Germany (crosses Gohrisch).
