The tours presented below can of course also be started, shortened, or combined in other parts of the municipality. The character of the paths varies, ranging from gravel surfaces to sections of public roads. Busy roads were avoided in the selection process. Good map material with contour lines is required. Recommendation: detailed maps from Kartographischer Verlag Rolf B\u00f6hm, Bad Schandau, or KOMPASS hiking and cycling map of Saxon Switzerland. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>THE ELBE CYCLE ROUTE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(Brochure available, www.elberadweg.de)<\/p>\n<p>The Elbe Cycle Route runs from the state border at Sch\u00f6na to the district border at Heidenau and is 40 km long with minimal differences in altitude. The most scenic sections are Sch\u00f6na &#8211; Bad Schandau and K\u00f6nigstein &#8211; Pirna. We highly recommend taking the S-Bahn for the return journey.
